I asked this question to my brother – which is more important? To love or to be loved??? And he answered very sweetly – if it is for me it’s “to be loved” and if it is for you it’s “to love (Me)”. And he gave a reasoning that everyone wants to be loved as that is something they get and not give. He said that everyone is selfish and wants the best for them, what they give in return is seldom thought about.
This made me wonder if its really true. Because if this was true everyone would want to be loved and no one would be available to love. Then how would one get the love they desire? Does this mean that some of us make the sacrifice and not worry about getting and only give or expect that they would get the love once they give it?
I don’t know which is more important. I hope you know the answer to it.

To be loved or to love... this statement opens a wave of thoughts.
ReplyDeleteLove comes in many forms and I think you are referring to all the forms.
As your brother rightly suggested we are all humans and are in great need to be loved.It caters to our psyche that we are so important to someone. The idea of being loved is exhilarating and the experience can become so addictive.
'To love' someone is totally in our hands, it may be an instantaneous feeling or may be developed over the period.This feeds to our need to...pamper someone and have someone above all in our life!
Both the things can be stand alone s, but when in combination, it works wonders to the people involved. This contributes to the bonding and well-being of them.
So I would say, "to be loved" is wonderful but again, "to love" is equally fantastic. I cant think them in isolation :)

ReplyDeleteMy views are isolated!! There are different views as an answer to this question... its just that the perception varies....
My answer to this question is "We need to love ourselves first..." only then everything else appears to be nice...
Another View - To love and to be loved...if both are in sufficient capacity when combined... only then practically one can feel the true love...
else one cannot...well thats my perception
Another view - The second point is give love... and never
expect back... becoz when you expect and you dnt get any in return.. then that hurts... so y expect at all... ;D
This world is a mirror that will show us what we are and will give us what we deserve. If we are loved by others....... then we are amongst the lovable persons. We are human beings and not any other breed of animal which will adopt to the surrounding conditions and atmosphere. We have our own style of living life.
As the saying goes... "Learn to get what you like, or you will be forced to like what you get!" And I am sure that you will like to be loved not to love only! - Again this is another view....
